In August of 2017, Lasercorn and Sohinki left Smosh Games full time, but still make appearances every now and then, including appearing for episodes of Game Bang.
During that time, guest stars would join the Smosh Games hosts, usually for two episodes. In May 2017, live punishments were discontinued in favor of a "Wheel of Punishment" for the losers. Ian and Anthony temporarily returned for the event, whilst the Smosh Squad also temporarily appeared full-time. The new show was roped into Smoshtober, in the format of an inaugural three-week tournament leading up to a live punishment on October 28. In October 2016, Game Bang was revamped and renamed to Game Bang 2.0, which first aired on October 14, 2016. The two players with the lowest scores have to do the punishment together, usually a partner dance, being an homage to Ian and Lasercorn's romantic duet in the first Just Dance 4 Game Bang. One of the most notable examples, and most popular, are the Just Dance Game Bangs, which have functioned as Smosh's annual Halloween video even after the end of Game Bang. Following the introduction of the Smosh Squad into personality based content in late 2015, the five Squad members would also occasionally join the Smosh Games crew in episodes.Įach episode almost always contained one or more punishments that the loser, (or losers), of each game had to complete. In Game Bang's beginnings, the show also featured the main Smosh duo ( Anthony and Ian) but as time progressed, their features on the show were treated more as guest appearances. In this show, the entire Smosh Games crew ( Jovenshire, Lasercorn, Mari, Sohinki, Flitz, Wes, Boze or Damien, depending who was on the Smosh Games roster at the time) would get together and spend the entire video playing a game of theirs, or the fan's, choosing. In late March 2018, they celebrated the "272nd" Game Bang (although it was the 288th episode) with an hour-long special episode, and ended this episode with the statement that Game Bang would officially be taking a break from the regular upload schedule, effectively announcing that the show had ended. The show used to come out alongside Top 5, but in early 2014, Top 5 was moved to Saturdays, making Game Bang the only Friday series. Smosh Game Bang (officially simplified as Game Bang) was a show that aired on Smosh Games every Friday.
